Individual Psychotherapy

The suffering that drives us to seek the support of a professional is energy that can tear us apart or be transformed into a process of personal growth and development of one's self. Each person is a story that intertwines positive experiences with others of fragility, both necessary. Individual therapy is always self-knowledge, it is the formation of a "third eye" to see and see oneself from different perspectives, it is the transformation of one's experiences into enrichment and strengthening of oneself. Suffering is necessary for growth, but it is necessary to know how to channel it through processes aimed at containing and overcoming it: looking back at our existence we will grasp the usefulness of having crossed stormy oceans and boundless deserts. The body speaks to us and when it communicates physical or spiritual pain it demands to be listened to. Soothing the pain may be necessary to be able to carry out the basic functions of everyday life, but it does not cure the causes. When the problem cannot be found in the organism, then the mind is unmasked as the creator of suffering that turns into pain, discomfort, or ailments that often reverberate in the body or in apparently inappropriate and senseless emotions. Psychotherapy delves into the depths of the human being to untie the knots of the mind that arise from imbalances and traumas, often of distant origin, thoughts too painful to be thought that have left their poisonous residues. We must be what we are, sometimes it is a pressing urgency; we must live our nature, even when destinies lead us along paths that rationally we would never have wanted to enter: resisting, digging in, deviating towards other shores makes us land on the deadly islands of non-being. The shell must be broken in order to be reborn. We are psychosomatic beings, an indissoluble union of the mental with the physical, mutually intertwined entities in which interactions can produce well-being or pain. Whether it is the unacceptable suffering produced by human relationships, often in the very family tissue where on the contrary one should be able to find love and acceptance, or whether it is the pain produced by dreams that appear increasingly unattainable making us perceive the anguish of living in a cage that appears tyrannical and immutable, or whether it is the unmotivated drives of anxiety that open up terrifying, imminent and unavoidable abysses, or, again, whether it is the emotions that overwhelm us, torturing us like the reeds in the wind of classic memory, it is always the mind that is the architect. The mind, when it is unable to flow its energy through thoughts, communicates through the body in the form of anxious states, insomnia, contractures, pain, depression, sexual dysfunctions and an infinity of other manifestations. Thought itself can degenerate into forms of torture, dysfunctional and obsessive, incapable of ever reaching a solution. It is useless and harmful to try to turn off the thought by sedating oneself with drugs - although sometimes it is necessary to resort to these tools as an aid to psychotherapy to alleviate the paralyzing effects of suffering - or perhaps with psychotropic substances, abandoning oneself in hypnotic activities using the media for hours and hours, when the reasons for suffering remain submerged. Despite the limits of being human, psychotherapeutic strength is based on the healing power of human relationships.
